The home of Walt Whitman, circa 1819. Served as inspiration for Whitman, America's greatest poet. Nineteenth-century furnishings and unusual architecture. Exhibits that incorporate more than 130 portraits of Walt Whitman, original letters, manuscripts, artifacts, and schoolmaster's desk are housed in the Interpretive Center. Guided tours. Picnic facilities. Museum shop and bookstore. Auto/hiking maps available for tours of historic West Hills. Handicapped accessible. Closed major holidays. Admission $5 adults, $4 Seniors and students, children under 5 are free.
